No. 86 for the win.
With five seconds on the clock and the score tied, Clayton Rosensteel kicked a 26-yard field goal to lift Ringgold to a 16-13 victory over Beaver Friday night at Joe Montana Stadium. It was the Rams’ first win in 721 days.
Three months ago, the Rosensteel family lost beloved daughter and sister Kaitlyn, who was known as “Moe.”
She was struck by lightning and killed shortly after graduating from Ringgold in June, cutting her life and plans to play soccer at West Virginia Wesleyan tragically short.
Clayton honors his sister’s memory by wearing the number she wore in club soccer for her favorite athlete from her childhood, Hines Ward.
“I know his sister’s looking from up in the sky watching over him. What a fitting ending for that kid,” said Darwin Manges, who picked up his first win as Ringgold head coach. “It’s not just Clay, it’s his whole family, what they’ve been through in the last six months.”
