MVI Shootout Classic: Genes’ late three leads Serra to win

In the final four minutes of Serra Catholic’s victory over Thomas Jefferson Saturday evening, sophomore Abby Genes caught fire from beyond the arc. Genes drained three 3-pointers down the stretch, including a go-ahead trey with 17 seconds remaining, in an 18-point performance that helped lead the Eagles to a 56-54 triumph over the Jaguars in the final game of the MVI Girls Shootout Classic at California High School.
