Rostraver to hold special meeting to vote on 2024 budget

The Rostraver Township Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting 6 p.m. Dec. 28 to vote on the 2024 budget and tax levy.
The meeting was announced during Wednesday night’s session as Ordinance 764 containing the proposed budget and Ordinance 765 detailing the tax levy were given their final reading by Solicitor Joseph Dalfonso.
The proposed budget, which will be advertised and made available to the public at the township municipal building starting Friday, includes balanced revenues and expenses of $8,737,850. In addition, the fire tax fund shows balanced revenues and expenses of $433,292.
As for the tax levy, the rate for general purposes sits at 18 mills, representing an increase of 3 mills over the current year. The rate for fire protection remains at 3 mills, which is the same as the current year.
