She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Donora, serving on many committees and teaching Sunday school. Dorothy served her country with honor and distinction during World War II as a pharmacist mate in the Navy Waves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, whom she married on Feb. 5, 1945, in New York, Anthony “Tony” Japak; her daughter, Francine Flower Japak; sisters, Virtue, Martha, Florence “Flossie” and Jean; brothers, William, Charles “Pike,” Tom, Frank, Fred and Harry; and daughter-in-law, JoAnne. She was the heart and soul of our family. She was always there for us and more than willing to help whomever and however it was needed. She always knew what to do. She was an excellent mother to her children and was proud to be aunt and caretaker to several nieces and nephews when needed. She was residing with her daughter and family in North Myrtle Beach. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L.
