A Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority driver, who last worked Dec. 7, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The driver last worked on the Local 2 route a little more than a week ago and is now following procedures for care.
Any passenger who is concerned about a potential exposure is asked to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and self-monitor for symptoms.
Anyone who begins to exhibits symptoms should contact their health care provider immediately.
The MMVTA has several protocols in place to protect riders and employees from the virus. Face masks are required while waiting for a ride and while riding on any MMVTA route.
There are extensive disinfecting cleaning procedures for vehicles and common areas in place and the authority has installed plexiglass guards for drivers.
Hand-sanitizing stations are also installed onboard vehicles.
The MMVTA encourages riders to practice safe distancing while riding its vehicles.
