In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, an environmental services company awarded several “green gifts” to several sustainability projects throughout the Mon Valley.
Noble Environmental provides innovative technologies and practices for solid waste management, transforming waste to renewable natural gas that powers trash hauling vehicles.
The company partnered with Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill and County Hauling to provide $50,000 to projects that focus on human, social, economic and environmental sustainability in Washington and Allegheny counties.
In the Mon Valley, four Allegheny County communities will benefit from three different sustainability projects.
The City of McKeesport will receive $7,000 to purchase automatic-external defibrillators. The project is focused on improving the environment, economy, infrastructure and safety.
