Belle Vernon Area lineman Hayden Baron visited the campus at Robert Morris University and immediately felt at home.
That’s a good thing for him, and the Colonials, as the Leopards’ big man will call the campus home for the next four years after he signed his national letter of intent to continue his football and academic career at the Moon Township university.
“I loved the campus and I saw that the fairly new coaches are building something special. I really wanted to be a part of that,” Baron said of his decision.
He will play for head coach Bernard Clark, whose Colonials finished 7-5 overall but finished 6-1 in the Northeast Conference.
He said he plans on majoring in business and finance.
“A long-term goal of mine is to graduate with a masters in business administration, but short term, my goal is to become a starter,” he added.
