Residents of the Five-Town Region may have taken the first steps toward forming a township Thursday night.
More than 60 people attended a town hall meeting at the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall to discuss ideas for working more closely together.
As the topic turned to postal service, Allenport resident Pamela Messina suggested that Roscoe, Elco, Stockdale, Allenport or Dunlevy move beyond simply cooperating.
“We need to all come together, all five of us boroughs, and we need to form a township,” Messina said. “If that happened, we would be too big to simply be using post office boxes and we could finally stop living in 1950 and have home delivery for our mail.”
