Administrators in the West Jefferson Hills School District are tired of rumors and misinformation circulating on social media, and superintendent Dr. Michael Ghilani has decided to do something about it.

On Thursday, Ghilani filmed the first episode of his “Mike on the Mic” video podcast with co-host and Thomas Jefferson High School senior Cat Coles, hoping to provide accurate information about the district and putting an end to residents getting their news from rumors and innuendo.

The monthly podcast, filmed in Thomas Jefferson High School’s video lab, will be uploaded on the district’s social media website and will also be available on Youtube for all to view.

“My biggest Achilles’ heel is false information being put out on Facebook,” Ghilani said during the podcast. “People will make up what they want to make up. This is a great way to get information out there.”
