Bearcats deal Cougars first loss

The Bentworth boys soccer team won’t be participating in the WPIAL playoffs this season, but their 4-3 home, non-section victory over Charleroi Monday carried a playoff atmosphere.
Brian Hustava scored all four Bearcats goals including the tie-breaking, gamewinner with less than 15 minutes left in regulation to hand the high-scoring Cougars their first loss of the season.
It was his play early in the game, though, that gave Bentworth (9-7-1) the confidence needed to knock off the Cougars (17-1).
“We played well tonight,” said Bearcat coach Gary Amos. “I think playing in a tough section prepared us to play an undefeated team. We had two starters out but everyone stepped up and worked hard.”
