Eagles set to rely on experience

Voluntary summer workouts can serve as a time to shake the rust off, to get in shape and to attempt to hone in on things before mandatory workouts start.

The Serra Catholic girls, though, effectively skipped any period of rust-shaking, coming in collectively as a well-conditioned, fit team.

As far as early signs go, that was as good as Eagles coach Ashley Dorn could’ve hoped for.

“I actually think we’re in the best physical condition that I’ve ever seen us at this point of the summer,” Dorn said. “They have come in really positive about it. They don’t look at it as something that we have to do, it’s more something that we want to do.”
