A New Eagle man who allegedly impersonated a police officer by conducting a traffic stop on the Monongahela Bridge in May has been charged with witness retaliation.
Dean J. Parasolick, 48, of Fourth Avenue, is charged with retaliation against a witness or victim and false reports after claiming the man he “arrested” during the traffic stop pulled a gun on him in a Monongahela convenience store parking lot earlier this week.
Parasolick was previously charged — and has since waived his right to a preliminary hearing — with terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, impersonating a public servant, disorderly conduct and false reports to law enforcement in relation to the May 5 incident. He allegedly stopped a red Nissan vehicle because he suspected the driver, Chad Ramsden, was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Parasolick reportedly told Ramsden he was a police officer, took his keys, removed him from the vehicle, made him lie on the ground and then sit on the guiderail before calling police, who later determined Ramsden was not under the influence and was permitted to leave the scene.
