Warriors, Commodores trying again today

Pending Mother Nature throwing any more curveballs at southwestern Pennsylvania, our two local softball teams will play for WPIAL softball titles this afternoon.
The WPIAL was forced to cancel the Class 2A and 4A championships due to wet weather Thursday. Not only were the games canceled, the sites have also been moved from Peterswood Park.
Second-seeded Elizabeth Forward (16-3) will face top seed and unbeaten Mt. Pleasant (17-0) at noon on the turf at Greater Latrobe High School. The game was originally a 2:15 p.m. start on Thursday.
Warriors’ coach Harry Rutherford said his team was able to get a practice in on the Warrior Stadium turf to prepare for the change of venue.
