Cal U’s Conte named regional Coach of the Year

Following a program-record 37 wins, Cal U head baseball coach Mike Conte was selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Coach of the Year this week.

Conte earned the honor for the first time since 2010 after being named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Coach of the Year earlier this month.

It marked the eighth time that Conte garnered the accolade from the conference and first time since 2013.

Conte led the program to a 37-15 overall mark to eclipse the previous mark for wins accomplished back in 2007. The Vulcans also posted a 19-9 record in the PSAC West, setting the record for most division wins in program history.
