Playing ‘sound, fundamental’ baseball will be key for Eagles

Over 20-plus years of coaching, Brian Dzurenda has learned that the first playoff game is often the most difficult.
Oftentimes before that game, there is a long layoff and nerves that build up over that period.
For Serra Catholic, a team that features just one senior starter, many of its players had none or limited playoff experience, too.
As such, Serra Catholic suffered a bit of a letdown on Thursday, when the Eagles squeaked out a 5-3 win over Fort Cherry.
