Cedar Creek Park receiving $290K for upgrades

A Rostraver Township park will soon benefit from ongoing, countywide tourism enhancement efforts.
Last week, Westmoreland County commissioners approved their annual tourism plan, dedicating $862,000 generated by additional hotel taxes on daily room rentals to improving county parks.
Rostraver’s Cedar Creek Park is slated to receive $290,000 — the biggest allocation of all chosen projects.
Township Commissioner Chairman Devin DeRienzo said Thursday that the majority of that funding will be used toward installation of a winter sports facility for sled riding and tubing.
