McKeesport girls look to experience and power

When McKeesport’s softball team won just four games last season, Jason Elash said it was a shock. Elash hasn’t been McKeesport’s coach for long, but he’s well acquainted with most of his players, having coached them since they were 8-years-old in travel ball.
Suffice to say, the results didn’t match the talent in Elash’s mind. This season, Elash expects a leap. The Tigers are off to an 0-2 start, but with the large majority of last season’s team returning, McKeesport is optimistic.
“Everybody expects more of themselves. They expected more out of themselves last year,” Elash said. “Everyone felt like they underperformed last year, so we have very high expectations.”
Those expectations derive from the Tigers’ hitting talent
