Eagles’ bats awaken in blowout win

Members of the Serra Catholic baseball team spent hours at Thursday’s practice, hitting fastballs and curveballs thrown by head coach Brian Dzurenda.
An emphasis on offense was established during the session in an attempt to address the team’s woes at the plate.
The struggles were evident this week when the Eagles scored a combined three runs on six hits in two nonsection games against Mohawk and California.
“We just got right back into it and did a lot of hitting and had a lot of reps,” said senior infielder Pat Brennan. “Everyone’s mindset was to take a deep breath and know it’s early in the season.”
