Vulcans begin NCAA tourney

The Cal U women’s basketball team begins its quest for the program’s third NCAA championship when it begins NCAA Tournament play this weekend.

The Vulcans (24-5) will face Charleston (W.Va.) tonight at 7:30 p.m. to begin play in the Atlantic Regional at Glenville State.

Cal U is the No. 4 seed in the regional, Charleston is seeded fifth.

The game is a rematch of an early season matchup as part of the MEC-PSAC Challenge. The Vulcans topped the Golden Eagles, 70-53, back on Nov. 11.
