For the second consecutive year, the Serra Catholic girls basketball team is playing in the month of March.
With Our Lady of the Sacred Heart’s WPIAL Class 2A championship win over Brentwood, the Eagles earned a spot in the PIAA playoffs despite falling to the Chargers in the WPIAL quarterfinals.
“We deserved this. We had a really good season and I’m really glad to see that we got pulled back in to the state tournament,” Serra Catholic head coach Bill Cleary said.
Serra Catholic, the fifth-place team out of the WPIAL, begins its road to Hershey with a 6:30 p.m. first-round game tonight against District 5 champion Everett at Pitt-Johnstown.
