Monessen’s police pension fund saga has reached a partial conclusion.
Last week, council members Dave Feehan and Anthony Orzechowski and Lois Thomas unanimously approved transfer of the city’s police and fire pension funds to Huntington Private Bank of Pittsburgh.
“We’ve seen what happened over the course of a year with this,” Orzechowski said. “It has now wrapped up and we are now done with it.”
Mayor Matt Shorraw and Councilman Gil Coles were once again absent, marking Shorraw’s 26th consecutive missed meeting. Coles has only attended one meeting since February 2018.
