Firefighter injured in Elizabeth Twp. blaze

One firefighter was injured during a two-alarm house fire in Elizabeth Township that broke out early Saturday morning.
The Elizabeth Township Fire Department could not be reached for comment prior to presstime, but Allegheny County Emergency Services Chief Matt Brown on Sunday evening said the male firefighter suffered an ankle injury and is expected to be OK. The department has not released his identity.
The blaze broke out around 2:30 a.m. at a home on Industry Road, according to Allegheny County 911 dispatchers.
Fire crews from Elizabeth Township, Glassport, Buena Vista, Lincoln borough, Liberty borough, Sutersville and White Oak volunteer fire departments and crews from Central Volunteer Fire Company of Elizabeth Township, along with Elizabeth Township police and SouthEast Regional Emergency Medical Services responded.
