N. Eagle man accused of assault with baseball bat

A New Eagle man accused of striking his neighbor with a baseball bat over the weekend has been released from the Washington County Correctional Facility after posting $25,000 bond.
George Jones, 61, of Fourth Avenue, is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and criminal mischief.
Charges were filed Sunday by the Monongahela City Police Department in the office of Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson in Monongahela.
Officer William Fusco said he and two other officers were called to the 500 block of Fourth Avenue around 2:40 p.m. Sunday for an assault.
