Elizabeth loan for new pump station receives approval

The Elizabeth Borough Municipal Authority has been approved for an $8.8 million low-interest loan to install a new pump station.
State Rep. Mike Puskaric, R-Washington/Allegheny, announced Thursday that an application requesting funding was approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).
The investment authority provides grants and low-interest loans to communities statewide for sewer, stormwater and water projects. The projects contribute to improving Pennsylvania’s environment and residents’ health, while also providing opportunities for economic and employment growth.
Puskaric said he’s pleased the PENNVEST board recognized the municipal authority’s efforts to improve the Monongahela River’s water quality.
