Coming off a win at then No. 1 IUP last week, California University women’s head coach Jess Strom admitted her team suffered a bit of a letdown in a six-point win Saturday against Mercyhurst.
The Vulcans made sure there was none of that in Wednesday’s game against Clarion, hammering the visiting Golden Eagles, 91-62.
Elizabeth Forward graduate and Vulcans’ senior Abbey Sporio led the way for the Vulcans with a career-high 22 points.
“The last few games I haven’t shot the best,” Sporio said. “I knew I had to have one of my best games.
“This is one of my best games, early I had knee issues and had a surgery. Now I feel like I can run fast and go full speed.”
