Weather- shortened decision goes to EF

There was more action in the skies than on the field Friday night at Chuck Knox Stadium in Leetsdale. After 30 minutes of repetitive lightning, a non-conference clash between Elizabeth Forward and 2017 Class 3A PIAA champion Quaker Valley was called due to the weather.

The Warriors were leading 7-6 with 37 seconds left to play in the second quarter when the second delay was announced. Despite the first half not begin completed, both head coaches, athletic directors and game officials met and determined the game would be ruled complete, awarding Elizabeth Forward the win.
