Valley gets sewer upgrade money

Millions of state-disbursed grant dollars aimed at repairing sewer systems and upgrading recreational facilities are headed to Mid-Mon Valley communities and municipal authorities in Allegheny, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
Gov. Tom Wolf announced his approval Tuesday of 359 new projects statewide through the Commonwealth Financing Authority. There are 236 Small Water and Sewer Program projects across the state — 12 in the Mon Valley — that are aimed at protecting and improving municipal water systems.
